Gerardo La Porta, aka "GiGi", was born in 1966 in Eboli (SA) ITALY.

Talented artist, as a child, stands out with his artistic skills, already awarded  at the age of nine years in a School Competition. Despite the different address training, studying hidden from parents, everything  that concerns the art. Is very passionate about the artists of the Renaissance and the '900, feeds much interest in Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and it' especially struck by Modigliani, Miro ', Picasso, Dali', Van Gogh, Gauguin, Kandinsky who studied in detail the technique and expression. It changes many jobs, and paints a lot during the breaks, very refined technique of oil paint, alternating with acrylics and watercolor. Suddenly, he decided to travel and work on cruise ships for 10 years. This gives him the opportunity to learn about new cultures, people, countries, and all the art in the world. Back in Italy, he feels the need to express and research new techniques in the art world. His artistic expression and basic is Abstract figurative, with very bright colors and full of nuances, alternating to a Pop Art always abstract (see last works). Here are some examples

He has participated in many events since 1992 throughout the province of Salerno in 1995 and until today he was part of the group TIAL where they organized exhibitions around the Campania’s Region, which Caserta, Avellino, Salerno, Teggiano, Ravello, Marina di Camerota, Sala Consilina, Agropoli, Eboli, Countryside, Battipaglia, Bellizzi, Colliano, San Gregorio, Montecorvino Rovella, Giffoni (Giffoni Film Festival). Also participates in international competitions, such as Malta, Argentina, Venezuela, Sicily.

His solo exhibitions were held between 2013 (his return in Italy) to the present, in Eboli, Agropoli, Acciaroli, Paestum, Salerno, Verona. He start to participate in some European exhibition in a couple of month and next year.

His studio is situated  in Eboli, where he works and lives, open daily.
