A Lady Ship that became one of Costa Cruises' legends in the mid-1980s.Costa first chartered the ship in 1979 and acquired it completely a few years later.
Then in 1996 she joined Classic International Cruises where with the new name of Princess Danae she sailed there for almost 17 years.With a passenger capacity of 568, Princess Danae has offered a really unique cruise guest experience by combining luxury with the familiarity, friendliness and genuine personalized service full of intimacy. **ORIGINALLY ** borne as an British mixed cargo and passenger ship 1955 -PORT MELBOURNE- that get marriage with Greece cruises in 1974-76 and therefore starting a successful career, and since 1996 named PRINCESS DANAE become part of the companies owned by George Potamianos.
On September 2012 in Marseille she debarked last passegeers and following the bankruptcy of Classic International Cruises in November 2012 with a consequently period of foreclosures and uncertainties, then was created Portuscale Cruises that gave new life for the ship acquiring it in 2013
At this point the new welcoming home port of call Lisbon believed in a new good future for MN DANAE, but unfortunately things went from bad to worse until it arrived at the Turkish port of Aliaga to be docked for its final dismantling and destruction.
*DEFINITELY a life of DANAE, spent years hosting guests and travelers from all over the world with its class and elegance, guaranteeing their enjoyment and satisfaction!

Una Lady Ship che divenne una delle leggende di Costa Crociere nella metà degli anni '80.
Dapprima la Costa noleggia la nave nel 1979 e pochi anni dopo la acquisi' del tutto. Poi nel 1996 entro a far parte di Classic International Cruises dove con il nuovo nome di Principessa Danae vi navigo' per quasi 17 anni.
Con la capienza passeggeri di 568, Princess Danae, ha offerto ai suoi ospiti un'esperienza di crociera memorabile combinando il lusso con il calore e l'intimità di una nave trasportando non più di 600 passeggeri fornendogli un servizio efficiente ma discreto. Ambienti rilassanti per cena nell'elegante/raffinato ristorante , per poi approfittare dell'eccellente e vario programma di intrattenimento ed arrichimento escursionistico.
IN ORIGINE era una vecchia nave da carico e passeggeri mista inglese PORT MELBOURNE del 1955 che sarebbe stata poi convertita in crociere in Grecia nel 1974-76 quando iniziò quindi una carriera di successo come DANAE e, dal 1996 come PRINCESS DANAE al servizio di una delle società del titolare George Potamianos.
Gli ultimi passeggeri - francesi - sbarcarono nel settembre 2012 a Marsiglia , e al seguito del fallimento di Classic International Cruises nel novembre 2012 ed un periodo di pignoramenti e incertezze,fu creata la Portuscale Cruises che così' acquista la nave nel 2013
Quindi LISBONA fece sperare ancora qualcosa nel futuro di DANAE, ma purtroppo le cose andarono di male in peggio fino al suo arrivo al porto turco di Aliaga per essere attraccata per il suo smantellamento e la sua distruzione definitiva.
Una vita quella di DANAE, trascorsa ad ospitare turisti e viaggiatori da ogni dove con classe ed eleganza.
Sono così felice di essermi avvicinato molto a questo esempio unico "lento navigare" percependo e catturandone con questo scatto il fascino e l'autenticità anche se dal molo..

A New First Female Captain at Regent Seven Seas

Serena Melani, 42 years old ,Italian from Toscany region, has been appointed the first female captain at Regent Seven Seas as master of the refurbished Seven Seas Mariner, cruising from the Caribbean to Alaska. She joined RSS in 2010 and for two years she served as staff captain on Seven Seas Mariner .Regent Seven Seas, is a luxury cruise brand of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings based in Miami FL- RSS recently became part of Norwegian Cruise Line and Oceania Cruises.
AMBURGO: A BORDO DI MSC SPLENDIDA SI E' FESTEGGIATO IL 100° SCALO HAMBURG: ONBOARD MSC SPLENDIDA TOOK PLACE THE CELEBRATION OF HER 100TH CALL TO THE CITY
MSC Splendida, la più grande nave che dal porto di Amburgo per tutta la stagione estiva 2016 ha effettuato 13 crociere tra le isole inglesi, i fiordi norvegesi e l’Islanda.Questo ha comportato l'aumento di più di 100.000 presenze al totale.
Il 18 settembre 2016 si sono svolti a bordo di MSC Splendida i festeggiamenti per il 100° approdo di una nave della flotta MSC Crociere nella città di Amburgo, alla presenza del Presidente Pierfrancesco Vago ed altre cariche dell’Hafen City. Alle ore 21.00 la nave mollando gli ormeggi per salpare alla volta dei mari del nordo VERSO Le Havre ha sfilato unitamente alla MSC Silvia, *nave della sezione cargo di MSC lunga 300 metri e in grado di trasportare oltre 9.400 containers, sino a Landungsbrücken, dove ad attenderla vi e' stato Michael Batz, celebre light artist di Amburgo, tra le cui opere possiamo ricordare il “Blue Port” che ha illuminato di azzurro gli edifici che affacciano sul fiume Elba. Per l'occasione ,Batz ha creato un grande spettacolo pirotecnico e musicale con fuochi d'artificio.
On September 18, 2016 it was held on board MSC Splendida the celebrations of the 100th stop of an MSC Cruises ship in the city of Hamburg, attended by President Pierfrancesco Vago and all others local authorities.
At 21.00 pm the ship leaved the cruise terminal sailing to the port of Le Havre, and before to reach the North Sea, she met the MSC Cargo ship MSC Silvia, 300 meters length and over 9.400 TEUs, and stooped in the zone of Landungsbrücken, where were waiting for them Michael Batz the famous lights artist of Hamburg very well known for the project “Blue Port”. In this special occasion ,Batz created a fireworks and music displayed by five barges specifically positioned for the celebration.
MSC Splendida has already entered the annals of the port of Hamburg on May 1st of 2015, when entering the harbor for the first time became the largest cruise ship to choose the Hanseatic city such as seasonal home port.

Gianni Onorato e Pierfrancesco Vago,I dirigenti di MSC Crociere, il ministro francese dell'Economia, Emmanuel Macron, ed Edouard Philippe,sindaco di Le Havre, si sono ritovati oggi c/o cantieri STX di Saint-Nazaire, sulla costa Atlantica, per celebrare la 'coin ceremony' di Msc Meraviglia.
La Coin Ceremony e' una delle più antiche tradizioni marinare. e quindi come dall'usanza marinara e' stata saldata una moneta nella chiglia delle navi in costruzione.Inoltre e'stato annunciato ufficialmente la conferma della costruzione ulteriore di due navi della classe Meraviglia c/o gli stessi cantieri.
Il Presidente Esecutivo MSC Pierfrancesco Vago, ha cosi' commentato: “La nostra lunga collaborazione con STX France e la continua crescita del nostro business consente oggi di confermare ben prima del tempo, le opzioni esistenti per due navi supplementari. Le due navi Meraviglia-Plus saranno ancora più grandi e lunghe, così come ricche di funzioni e servizi. Questo conferma MSC Crociere come la più audace ed innovativa compagnia del settore, quando si tratta di scegliere il design e le esperienze che creiamo per i nostri ospiti. Per questo motivo, sono orgoglioso di annunciare che MSC Meraviglia sarà battezzata in Francia nel bel porto, patrimonio dell’umanità dell’UNESCO di Le Havre il 1 ° giugno 2017. Da lì, inizierà la sua stagione inaugurale nel Mediterraneo ed avrà come homeporting un altro porto francese, quello di Marsiglia.”

Focus on ports in China: Sanya
Sanya is situated in the southernmost tip of Hainan province in China, able to host cruise ships year-round.
A big-budget phase-two development of Sanya’s cruise terminal will be completed in 2016, providing it with the ability to host up to seven ships at once, including Oasis-class vessels. Before that, a luxury hotel will open at the port, as well as new retail outlets and other attractions.
In 2014, the port of Sanya received 71 visits and more than 156,000 passengers.
The lack of capacity is key impedance to port’s cruise growth. For example, Queen Mary 2 was turned away from berth booking as the port couldn't accommodate the liner.
While the development of Sanya port is ongoing, this summer a new berth opened, able to handle with the Voyager-class ships of Royal Caribbean.

Inizia con Mariner of the Seas la grande avventura della compagnia dalla Città della Lanterna, storica sede della
compagnia in Italia. Per la prima volta nella storia della compagnia, inizia oggi 23 luglio con Mariner of the Seas, quinta e ultima gemella di Classe Voyager (90.000 ton.) e nave ammiraglia di
Royal Caribbean International in partenza dall’Italia.E' approdata per la prima volta nel porto di Genova, questa mattina, la nave ammiraglia del Gruppo Royal Carribean denominata "Mariner
of the Seas": il porto del capoluogo ligure è infatti stato scelto come home port nel Mediterraneo Occidentale. I numeri - 311 metri di lunghezza, 48 di
larghezza, 138 mila tonnellate di stazza lorda, oltre 1.100 persone in equipaggio, fino a 3.114 unità come capacità di trasporto - che si classifica a buon diritto come
"gigante del mare". Secondo uno studio della compagnia di crociere, i 60 mila passeggeri in arrivo comporteranno per la città un giro di affari di 1 milione di euro
