A Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection yacht. The cruise line is building three, 298-passenger yachts set to launch in late 2019. The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection – are being created in collaboration with maritime experts Douglas Prothero and Lars Clasen.
The first two Ritz-Carlton ships will launch in 2019 and 2021 and will cruise ports in the Mediterranean Sea, northern Europe, Canada and the Great Lakes during the summer months while sailing to destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean Sea in the winter.
The third ship, expected to put to sea in 2022, will focus on touring the Pacific Rim.The ships will also stop in locations not accessible to mass market cruise ships, such as Capri and Portofino in Italy and St. Barths in the Caribbean.
There will be two duplex penthouse suites sprawling 138 square metres each.
The luxury yacht will feature a restaurant by Sven Elverfeld from The Ritz-Carlton’s three Michelin-starred restaurant Aqua.
Managing director of the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection ,Douglas Prothero, said guests will be able to hire the yachts for custom charter tours or reserve a cabin on scheduled cruises. the Ritz-Carlton yachts will not include casinos or large show lounges .
Prothero said “Think of it as a casual luxury resort at sea.” Also he said the company has yet to establish prices and fares, but reservations will open in May 2018.
